
HOW TO MAKE A FLAT WHITE
This step-by-step guide will teach you how to make a flat white, blending rich espresso with steamed milk for a smooth and balanced coffee.
How to make a flat white

Remove group handle and check it is clean and dry.

Place under the grinder and select double shot.

Level out the coffee and tamp firmly.

Brush away loose coffee and insert the handle firmly.

Place a small 8oz cup under the spout and select double dose.

Allow 18-23 seconds for espresso extraction.

Turn the steam wand on and slowly lower the jug as the milk level rises, keeping the nozzle close to the surface.

Slowly texture your milk.

Raise the jug slightly and feel the temperature.

When the jug is hot to touch, turn off the steam and take the jug away.

Wipe the steam arm clean with a damp cloth.

Purge the steam arm for a few seconds.

Tap your milk jug on a surface to break any large milk bubbles.

Swirl your milk in small circular motions before pouring.

Pour the milk from high above to break through the espresso crema.

When half full, wiggle the jug as you pour, then draw a line through the milk at the end.
